Hello Brian,

The prototype electric loco No 4501 was painted green, I assume because
that was the then current colour of express steam locomotives.

No 4601 and other 46 class electric locos was painted red when manufactured
in England.

I would think that the 'O' gauge model of 4601 was painted green in
anticipation of the green colour being used on the real locos.

That 46 class looks more like 4501, or is the colour scheme deceptive?.

The NSWGR's O gauge layout at the Royal Easter Shows in the 50s and 60s was
awesome.

Hello Richard and others,

That model of the Domain Road Interchange looks interesting.

Are the models of the trams operational so that they can display the
movements of trams at the interchange ?

Maybe "two-rail" HO gauge model tracks could allow appropriate tram
"interchange" movements to be demonstrated.

There was a more ambitious "0" gauge railway model set up on the main
Sydney Railway Station, interstate platform No.1 during displays for the
NSW Railways Centenary in 1955. It had models of the then steam hauled
express and freight trains as well as a model of a train hauled by a "then
still to be delivered" 46 class electric loco.
