Andrew, the photos have been very interesting and of course they are appropriate. I did not know there were so many railway lines and a yard at Port Melbourne, and I didn’t know there was a separate goods line. Your photo posting rate is good. You give time for readers to digest the photos.

Only with hindsight can we say the rail lines to Port Melbourne and St Kilda should have been kept. While the trams are quite good, they do slow right down when they get to the City and they get very overcrowded.

Yes Jeff. I agree that the dogbox cars were comfortable to sit in. They were solid riding trains too, but I must admit the new Siemens trains (although pretty ugly outside) would be the best riding emus Melbourne
has ever had. As to posting all these train shots on a tram site...well, er....there has been much encouragement. I am a little nervous about the quantity, but so far no one has complained (fingers crossed).
