At least I visited Lisbon when they were still using the Brill Bogie cars. They woulf have been ideal in the Perth Tramway Museum.
However most of the bogie cars went to Museum & tourist tramways.
Jeff,
PS It was Jan 2003,not 1993 when the Porto LRV visited Melb

The Eurotram demonstrator made a visit in 2003 and Combino Plus was 2007.

Both the Adelaide Flexity and the Madrid Combino's transited Melbourne
and have been 'looked over' by the Melbourne operators as well.

Hi Matthew,

Dates are correct as you got them from VicSig.
Both cars were used in special service (Australian Open tennis and Grand Prix) and C008 was also used in regular service.
For the Eurotram see:

and for C008

The Eurotram was posed with a C1 and a D1 during its visit.

C008 is now at Metro Transportes Sul do Tejo (MTS) in Almada, across the river from Lisbon.
I've attached a pic of two cars of this system at the ferry terminal in Almada - with Lisbon in the background.
C008 is the test car for a Siemens super capacitor energy storage system.

One of the Adelaide Flexity sets was brought to Preston and demonstrated to Yarra Trams, but not put into general passenger service.
One reason was that its narrow width made the gap at platform stops too wide.
Peter Bruce caught what may have been the only demonstration trip ...

I'd classify the ex Mulhouse cars as 'demonstrators' too.
I'm sure that the lease was part of the Alstom strategy to get the next Melbourne order.
My guess is that the later difficulties on the end of lease arrangements is complicated by the fact that Alstom did not get the order.

The ex-Madrid Citadis (Not Combino) trams all passed through Preston Workshops for modifications prior to despatch to Adelaide by road, but as far as I know, none of them ventured out onto the streets.

Mal Rowe - pretty chuffed at the variety of trams seen in Melbourne in the last decade
