The MMTB had two Austral Otis rail grinders and later a third 'Essanee'
grinder bought from Sydney after that system closed.

Destination City describes the Austral Otis grinders as an improved
version of the Woods Gilbert design.

On Friday, Jeff Bounds showed me the attached pic of the Woods-Gilbert
grinder - which was apparently petrol powered and used on Melbourne's
cable trams.
